As a member of the LGBT community, I truly believe in equality and I am totally committed to the fight against discrimination. I want to live a world where the rights of all are protected and with this project, my goal is to do everything I can to start making this dream come true.

Francisca, Portugal

"I want to create an environment in my smaller and wider communities where anyone can feel safe and respected, and to raise awareness for more communities outside of my own!"

The diversity in my home country has made me understand that differences are difficult to deal with. I want to see greater acceptance for people who identify as LGBT+, because the reality is that we are all different.

Fiona, USA

Being a student at UWC ISAK Japan, and along with the rest of my team offering a unique perspective on the world, made me want to work hard to help and empower existing LGBTQ organizations in Japan.

Being part of the LGBT+ community was very hard for me in the past, because my community back home is not very open minded about stuff like this. I want people to know that they are not alone in this world, and I want to create a community in which everyone feels accepted.

Ryan, Honduras

I grew up in a very close minded homophobic society, but was privileged to have open minded and supportive parents. I witnessed many people struggling with bullying and hardships around me at school so I grew passionate about LGBTQ+ rights and found my place in project KOE to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community here.

We'd also like to thank "Big Koe", some members of the class of 2020 who started this project for us to take on this school year.
